Brightwaters & Beyond is a short film festival that began in 2025 at Wohseepee Park in Brightwaters, New York. The first event brought together friends, family, and filmmakers to share their stories on screen. What started as a single night of local film and laughter has grown into a community rooted in creativity, connection, and the love of cinema.
Brightwaters & Beyond exists to bring people together through the art of short film. Our mission is to give emerging filmmakers a space to share their work, spark conversation, and build genuine community. We believe storytelling has the power to connect, inspire, and remind us how creativity thrives when shared.
The Venue
N Windsor Ave, Brightwaters, New York
This year the screening moves inside the cabin at Wohseepee Park. Pull into the park off Windsor Avenue and the cabin is easy to spot. Seating is provided, admission is free, and the films play the way they are meant to be seen, together on the big screen.
